Die Favoritin / The favourite

Hello my friends
I have a phantastic biography of Madame Dubarry who was the Maitresse of Louis XV.
Her parents were simple people living in narrow circumstances. Therefore she hadn´t a lot of friends at the french court.
Nevertheless she was executed with all the nobility by the guillotine.
Well, here is the painting to the subject.
And I have a little note. You can join my giveaway till tomorrow.
And Vania from Vania´s art has her first giveaway too.
To have a look at her sweet blog you can click here.
Have a great day

  3. Janine you are so kind!! Ive decided to erase that post as it was too much of a downer, so your comment isin't published either.

But I really do appreicate your kind words! She'll be Apples is supposed to be a happy lady! Maybe her smile is too subtle?

And yes Ive been playing with the header too. Do you think its too business like? You're probably right! I will keep playing around with it.

  4. Hi Janine, Thank you so much for sharing this special time in your life, was lovely to read. Reminded me of the eighties and how innocent this time was and beautiful. Sounds such a lovely time you spent in the Uk and with a lovely family. I felt a little me was tight there with you while reading your words.
I think this is why I paint dresses like this, to relive the innocent beautiful time of life. I have a great life now, but there is something so special in memories.
    Have a great day!

    A BIG HUG!

  8. Beautiful! Very elegant ladies, very romantic dresses. What an incredibly different life it was back then. It's terrible she had to be beheaded.

And your mermaids down below! Gorgeous paintings, Janine! The colors are marvelous!
