Creatures of the night

Hallo meine Lieben,

morgen ist es so weit.

Die diesseitige und die jenseitige Welt werden eins, und mein steinernen Drache wir zum Leben erwachen. Das Bild ist eine Tuschezeichnung die ich vor vielen Jahren gemacht habe.

Ich habe die Idee zu diesem Bild geklaut, aber leider kann ich nicht mehr sagen von wem.

Ich wünsche euch allen ein tolles Halloweenfest und wenn ihr es noch schöner machen wollt dann schaut bei Nancys von "Daydreaming my life away" vorbei. Sie hat ein tolles giveaway.

Hello my friends,

today it´s the day.

This worls and the other worls will come together for one night and I am sure my stone made dragon will come to life tomorrow. It´s an ink drawing I made several years ago.

I stole the idea to this drawing but unfortunatly, I can´t say where.

Dragonhouse- Project finished!

Hallo meine Lieben,

könnt ihr euch noch an mein Drachenhausprojekt erinnern?

Die zugemauerten Fenster auf der Ostseite unseres Hauses sind zum Eingang in die Welt eines Drachen geworden. Ich hatte befürchtet, dass die Besucher des Friedhofs, der gegenüber ist, Anstoß nehmen könnten.

Das war bisher nicht so. Ich habe aber viel positive Resonanz gehört und ich freue mich immer besonders, wenn staunende kinder vorbei spazieren.

Sicherheitshalber habe ich aber noch einen winzig kleinen Ritter dazu gemalt. Falls sich also jemand über dieses Phantasybild beschwert, dann kann ich ja behaupten, der Kleine wäre der heilige Georg und mein Wandbild wäre ein religiöse Darstellung (he he he).

Tatsächlich sieht es für Don Blech nicht gut aus. Ich glaube ja, der Drache wird ihn wegschnipsen.

Tja, manchmal gewinnt der Drache.

Gut so.

Hier könnt ihr noch mal sehen wie alles anfing und wie es nun ausschaut.

Hello my friends,

Can you still recall my dragon house project?

The walled-up windows on the east side of our house have become the entrance to the world of a dragon. I was afraid that the visitors to the cemetery, which is opposite might take offense.

Fortunatly, this was not the case. But I have heard a lot of positive feedback and I'm always happy especially when children walk over with big eyes and a smile on their faces.

As a precaution I painted  a tiny knight with the dragon. If someone complains about this phantasypicture, I can tell, that the little knight is St. George and that my painting is a religious one (he he he).
In fact, it does not look good for Georgie.

I think the dragon will flip him away.

Well, sometimes the dragon wins.

Right so.

Drachenhausprojekt / Dragonhouse- project

Hallo ihr Lieben,

ich kann gar nicht glauben wieviel Zeit vergangen ist.

Ich hab euch alle vermisst, aber die blogfreie Zeit auch gebraucht.

Jetzt hab ich euch so viel zu erzählen und zu zeigen, aber das meiste wird warten müssen, da ich morgen für zwei Wochen nach Ägypten fahre (juchu).

Aber ich möchte euch das zeigen, was mich in den letzten Wochen so sehr beschäftigt hat.

Unser Dach war kaputt und wir mussten unsere Regenrinne bzw. den Gesimskasten erneuern. Da kam uns die Idee ihn mit ornamental verzierten Brettern zu verschönern. Wir hatten das letztes Jahr auf der Burg Cochem an der Mosel gesehen und uns hatte das so gut gefallen.

Gesagt getan, die Bretter wurden bemalt und auf den Gesimskasten angebracht und da das Gerüst nun einmal stand haben wir uns überlegt, dass die zugemauerten Fenster an der Ostseite des Hauses nicht so schön aussehen. Mein Freund Albert wollte dort einen Drachen haben, aber da ich mich standhaft weigerte auf das Gerüst zu steigen (ohne Not steige ich nicht mal auf eine Leiter), hat er mir Holzplatten in der Größe der Fenster zurechtzimmern müssen.

Ich habe Entwürfe gemacht, denn der Drache sollte in allen Fensteröffnungen zu sehen sein.

Ganz oben im kleinen Fenster sieht man ein Stück Strenenhimmel mit dem Sternzeichen Draco.

Darunter sollte der Kopf , darunter Körper und Flügel und ganz unten, in dem kleinen Fenster kommt die Schwanzspitze und ein verzweifelter kleiner Wicht von einem Ritter (ich hab für Drachentöter nicht viel übrig).

Falls sich jemand über das Bild beschweren sollte,  wird der Ritter zum heiligen Georg und das Wandbild zu einer religiösen Darstellung. Da kann doch keiner was gegen haben (hehe).Aber der unterste Teil fehlt noch.

Albert hat die oberen Teile angebracht und das Gerüst ist nun entfernt.

Ich finde die Mühe hat sich gelohnt.

Am meisten freue ich mich über die Kinder die an unserem Haus vorbeikommen und mit offenem Mund hochschauen.

Unsere Haus ist nun ein Tor zur Drachenwelt. Die Kinder können das noch sehen. Seht ihr es auch?

Ich verspreche euch ganz viele Geschichten wenn ich zurück bin und ich werde euch alle, alle dann auch endlich besuchen.

Hello my friends,
I can not believe how much time passed by.
I missed you all, but I needed the blog- free time.
I have to tell and show you so much, but most of it will have to wait, till I am back, because I will fly to Egypt tomorrow for two weeks (yippie).
But I want to show you now, what kept me busy the last time.
Our roof was kaput ( I just found that word in the online dictionairy. And I can´t believe it. It is a german slang- word, and a funny one too) and we had to fix the rain drain. We had the idea to cover it with  ornamental decorated planks. We saw that last year at the Castlle Cochem at the river Mosel, and we liked it very much. No sooner said than done, I painted the planks amd Albert put them on. Now as the scaffold had been put on, we thought, that the bricked windows at the east-side of our house are not that pretty. Albert wanted a dragon, but I refused to step on the scaffold ( I do not even like to step on a ladder). So he made wooden boards in the right sice.

I made some blueprints, cause the dragon should be seen in all the bricked windows.
On the very top, I made a piece of heaven with stars and the constallation "draco".
Underneath there should be the head, below that body and wing and in the small window at the bottom there should be the end of the tail and a tiny little desperate knight ( I do not like dragon-slayers that much).
If people complain about the wallpainting, I could tell them that the knight is the holy George and this is a religious work. Nobdy can say something against that (hehe).
But that part is not ready yet.

Albert fixed the board on the wall, and we removed the scaffold.
I thing the result was worth the effort.
I am most happy about the children passing our house and staring at the dragon with open mouth.
Our house is now a gate to the drangon- world. The children can see that. Can you see it too?
I promise to tell you many things when I am back, and than I weill honestly visit you all.

Zwei neue Bilder/ Two new paintings

Hallo ihr Lieben,
der Wonnemonat beflügelt meine Phantasie und so habe ich zwei neue Bilder gemalt. Das Erste ist ein Acrylbild auf Leinwand und goldenem Collagepapier. Die Schmetterlinge habe ich auf leichtem Karton gemalt und nur einen Flügel aufgeklebt. Jetzt können sie flattern.Das gibt dem Bild einen dreidimensionalen Aspekt, den ich sehr mag.
Die kleine Prinzessein hat einen Drachen gefunden. Ihre Mutter sieht noch sehr skeptisch aus. Doch wenn man den kleinen Schatz anguckt ist klar, das von ihm nichts Böses zu erwarten ist.
Ich liebe Drachen sehr. Sie sind ein weltweites Phänomen, denn Menschen aus allen Teilen der Erde glaubten an Drachen, ohne jemals in Kontakt zueinander getreten zu sein.
Wie kann das sein?
Gab es sie vielleicht wirklich?
Ich möchte das gerne glauben.

Für das zweite Bild habe ich Teile von Buchseiten (es waren Leseexemplare, denn ich zerreisse keine Bücher) zu einem Hintergrund zuseammengefügt.
In der Mitte sitz "die Leserin", versunken in ihrem Buch.
Ich packe meine Bilder sonst ziemlich voll, aber sie gefällt mir so wie sie ist.
Nur sie und ihr Buch und um sie herum kann alles sein oder nichts.

Hallo my dear friends,
May fires my inspiration, and so I painted two more pictures.
The first is acrylic-paint and collage-paper on stretched canvas. I painted the butterflies on a light cardboard, cuted them out and glued just one wing ( do you say wings, when you talk of butterflies?) on the canvas. Now they can flap. That gives the painting a three-dimensional aspect, which I like.
The littele Princess has found a dragon. Her mother looks at him very sceptically.
But one look at the little darling and you know, that he can not be bad.
I love dragons very much.
They are a worldwide phenomenon, cause people all over the world believed in dragons, without getting in contact to each other.
Why is that so?
Did they really exist?
I would like to believe that.












For the second painting, I put parts of book-pages ( I don´t tear up real books, these were reading- exemplars) together for the background. In the middle "the reader" is sitting sunken in her book.
Usually I put a lot of details in my paintings, but I like this one as it is.
Just her and her book, and around there can be everything or nothing.
