Weinachtszeit- Holzzeit / Christmast time- wood time

 

Hallo meine Lieben

ich bin wieder vollständig genesen, und freue mich nun auf Weihnachten.

Letztes Jahr hat mir mein Albert eine Drechselbank zum Geburtstag geschenkt, und ich finde, das Holzarbeiten ganz hervorragend zu Weihnachten passen.

Kennz ihr Tscheikowskys Nussknacker?

 Ich liebe den Mäusekönig und habe ihn auf einer Kuchenplatte verewigt.

Den Fuß habe ich aus einem Stück Buchenholz gedrechselt.

Dann habe ich mich an kleinere  Formen herangewagt.

So entstand der Pilz, der meinen Wichteln nun Gesellschaft leistet.

Und weil das so schön geklappt hat, habe ich eine Spieluhr gemacht.

Mit Hilfe einer alten Zigarrenkiste, einem Uhrwerk, das "Stille Nacht spielt, Schnee- Strukturpaste

und einiger gedrechselter Figuren. Die Spieldose ist ein echtes Gemeinschaftswerk, den Albert hat die Tannenbäume gemacht und ich das Mädchen und den Schneemann.

Weihnachten kann kommen.

Gladfully I am fully recoverd and now I am looking foreward to christmas

Last year Albert gave me a wood- turning- machine for birthday.

I think woodwork and christmas belong together.

Du you know Tchaikowskys Nutcracker?

 I love the King of Mice and painted him on a cake- stand.

I turned the base from a piece of beech- wood.

Then I tried some smaller figures.

Like the mushroom wich accompanies my two gnomes.

And because this went so good, I tried to make a musical box.

You require an old cigar- box, a clockwork playing "silent night", snow- structure-paste

and some little figures. The music- box is a real teamwork, cause Albert turned the trees and I the girl and snowman- figure.

Christmas can come

Inspiration Avenue / Once upon a time

Es war einmal...das ist das Thema der "Inspiration Avenue".

Ich habe daraufhin eine kleine Reise ins Morgenland gemacht.

Und weil mir so weihnachtlich zumute ist, habe ich meine alte Kiste mit Weihnachtsdekoration rausgekramt, Adventskranz und Weihnachtskalender aufgebaut und eine Kerze entzündet. Ich liebe die Adventszeit...

made an advent calendar for my sweetheart, an advent wreath and lit a candel.

This time for Africa

Hallo meine Lieben,

ihr erinnert euch an den Shakirssong?

Die WM war wirklich schön und Afrika in aller Munde. Das Interesse für Afrika ist bei mir noch nicht zu Ende. In den Sommerferien, machen wir, das heißt der Jugendtreff in dem ich arbeite, Ferienspiele mit dem Thema Afrika. Eine Gruppe wird afrikanisch tanzen, eine andere afrikanisch kochen, es gibt eine Kostümgruppe und so weiter.

Ich mache mit den Kindern eine Reise durch Afrika. In einigen Ländern machen wir halt und, meine Aufgabe ist es zu erklären, wie die Länder aussehen, was das besondere ist und vor allem unter welchen Bedingungen die Kinder dort leben. Das ist nicht immer einfach. Damit meine Reise aber nicht zu schwermütig wird, habe ich mir aus ein paar Brettern eine Kiste gezimmert.

Ich habe sie bemalt und gebe dort Dinge der Länder auf, die wir bereisen,

Dinge die alle Sinne ansprechen wie, Instrumente und Musikaufnahmen, Gewürze, Kunstgegenstände und Spiele.

Ich hoffe das es den Kindern gefallen wird.

Am Ende der Ferienspiele bekommt jedes Kind eine Ferienspielzeitung.

Das Titelbild ist von der einmaligen und wundervollen Vanessa Brantley- Newton von Ooh la la design studios. Sie hat mir erlaubt eines ihrer wunderbaren Bilder zu verwenden.

Hello my friends,
do you remember this Shakaira-song?
The football world- championship was great and Africa resoundes throughout the world. But my interest for Africa isn´t over yet. Now, during the holidays, the youthcenter I work in, will make summer- games, as we call it. For two weeks, 65 children will come and it´s all about africa.
One group will do african cooking, another group will dance, some make costumes and so on.
I will make a trip through africa with the children. We will stop in some countrys and my job is to explain about the countrys, how they look like and first of all, under what circumstances the children live there.
That is not that easy. For the reason, that the journey doesn´t become to sad I timberd myself a chest out of some old planks. I painted it and put items in it, of the countries we will learn about.
Items to appeal all the sences like, music- instruments, and african music on CD, spices, african craftwork and games.
I hope the children will like it.
In the end, they all get a sommergame-magazin. The cover is made by the wonderful and unique Vanessa Brantley- Newton of Ooh la la design studios.
She was so generous to allow me, to use one of her great (africa related) pictures.

Blogaversary, award and giveaway

Hallo meine Lieben,

es ist tatsächlich schon ein Jahr her, dass ich dieses Blog habe und das ist für mich ein Grund zu feiern.

Ich habe mir anfänglich kaum vorstellen können, das es irgendjemanden interessieren könnte was ich zu zeigen und zu sagen habe. Tatsächlich habe ich hier wundervolle Leute kennegelernt die mich inspirieren, ermutigen, meinen künstlerischen Horizont erweiter haben und die ich Stolz bin meine Blogfreunde zu nennen.

Ich finde es phantastisch zu sehen, aus welchen Teilen der Welt ihr alle kommt.

Heute möchte ich mich bei euch dafür bedanken, dass ihr mein Leben im letzten Jahr bereichert habt und ich so viel Zeit mit euch verbringen konnte.

It is allready one year that I am running this blog, and that is a reason for me to celebrate. In the beginning I could hardly imagine that there is somebody who has any interests in what I show and what I say. Actually I met wonderful people, who inspire me,who encourage me and who expended my artistic horizon. I am so proud to call you my blog-friends. It is phantastic to see from wich parts of the world you are.

Today I want to say thank you, that you have enriched my life, thank you for the time I could share with you,

Zwei Kästchen und ein Bild /Two boxes and a painting

Hallo meine Lieben,
diese Woche war wieder viel zu tun, und deshalb bin ich erst heute wieder hier.

Sonntag ist Blogtag! Zum Glück habe ich jedoch ein wenig Zeit zum Malen gefunden, meistens spät in der Nacht, wenn mein Freund schon seelig schlummerte. Ich hab Momentan nicht das Gefühl etwas Großes anfangen zu können und deshalb zeig ich euch heute ein paar kleine Sachen,ein kleines Bildchen mit dem Titel "Kathy und Kitty" und zwei Holzkistchen die für weitere Ordnung auf meinem Arbeiztsplatz sorgen, wei sie meine Stifte und Kleinkram beherbergen. Wenn ich die Sachen so zusammen sehe fällt mir auf, das ich eien "Grüne Phase" habe. Was soll ich sagen, wahrscheinlich liegt das daran, das ich mich so nach dem Frühling sehen.

Und nun hab ich noch einiges zu tun, weil ich eure Posts doch unbedingt lesen will, und da ist noch einiges nachzuholen.

Hello my friends

this was again a busy week and therefor I wasn´t much in Blogland since last sunday.

Sunday is Blogday!

But fortunatly I found a little time to paint, usually deep in the night, when my boyfriend was asleep. I don´t feel that I should start something big in the moment and therefor I show you some small things, a little painting with the title "Kathy and Kitty" and two wooden boxes, wich will help me to organize my workingspace for they keep pensils and small stuff.When I look at this things together it seems as if I have a "greenish phase". What shoul I say, I suppose it has something to do, wizh my longing for spring.

And now I have a lot to do, because I want to read all your posts from the last week and they are plenty.

Art- treasure- box

Hallo ihr Lieben,
ich hatte letzte Woche wenig Zeit zu bloggen und habe euch vernachlässigt.

Ich hatte viel auf derArbeit zu tun und darüber hinaus versuche ich Ordnung in mein Heim und meine

Untensilien zu bekommen.

Ich hab mal wieder was neues gemacht und eine Holzkiste bemalt mit Holzherzen geschmuckt mit Glitzer versehen und sie zu meiner neuen Farbendose gemacht. Der Knopf auf dem Deckel ist aus Fimo gemacht.

So organisiert, geht alles viel leichter.
Ich mach mich nun auf den Weg um euch zu besuchen.

Hello my friends,
I didn´t have much time the last week and so I didn´t visit many blogs. I am sorry for that.
I had a lot to da at work and I try to clean the house and  to organise my things.
Therefor I made something new.
It is a wooden box painted with acrylic paint, decorated with wooden hearts and glitter and with a "FIMO"- clay- button on top.
This is my new colour-box.
Organized like that, everything is much more pleasent.
So, now I will visit you.

Fertig! / Finished!

Hallo ihr Lieben,
das wäre geschafft.
Wie ihr sehen könnt habe ich ständig die Perspektiven gewechselt. Aus dem Rasen wurde eine Hecke, aus der Hecke ein Apfelaum, dann noch ein paar Tierchen dazu, die Kiste von innen streichen und bekleben, eine kleine Kollage dazu, Tee rein, fertig.
Ich find es allemal hübscher als die Teebeutel in Pappschachteln auf dem Regal stehen zu haben.
Es macht Spaß auf Holz zu malen. Ich werde das in Zukunft öfter machen.

Hello my friends,

it´s done.

As you can see, I switched perspectives. The lawn became a bush and the bush became an apple tree. Then I put some animals on the box, coloured the inside, add a little collage to it, put the tea inside, ready!

I think it looks far better then the tea- cardbord- boxes on the shelfe.

And it was really fun to paint on wood.

It feels good and I think I´m going to do that more often.

Abwarten und Tee trinken /Teatime

Hallo meine Lieben,
Abwarten und Tee trinken ist mein Motto für die nächsten Wochen.
So fiel es mir leicht eine Verwendung für die Kiste zu finden.
Es wird eine Teekiste. Inspiration finde ich bei vielen von euch Bloggern.
Unter anderem bei Carolee , die wunderbare Bilder auf Holzgegenstände malt, unter anderem hat sie ein paar tolle Teekisten gemacht.

Hello my friends,
In Germany we have a saying "Wait and drink tea". So this is going to be my Motto for the next weeks and therefore it was easy to find a usage for the box.
It is going to be a teabox.
I found inspiration by many of you bloggers. I want to mention Carolee, who makes wonderful paintings on wooden objects like teaboxes.
You have to have a look at her artwork.

Sommerzeit/ Summertime

Hallo ihr Lieben,
Da ich nun viel Zeit habe, hab ich das nächste Projekt in Angriff genommen.
Ich bemale eine Holzkiste mit Landschaftsbildern.
Was ihr hier seht ist der Deckel mit dem Bild einer norddeutschen Kate.
Ein paar großartige Tipps für das Malen mit Acryl habe ich aus dem tollen Buch "Charming Village Scenes You Can Paint" von der großartigen Catherine Holman.
Ihr solltet euch ihre tollen Bilder auf ihrem Blog ansehen.
Morgen werde ich mit dem unteren Teil der Kiste anfangen.

Hello my friends,
since I have plenty of time, I started my next project.
I started to paint a landscape on a wooden box. What you can see here is the top of the box, with a painting of a typical north-german cottage.
I got some very good advice for painting with acrylic colour from the wonderful book "Charming Village Scenes You Can Paint" by the gorgeous Catherine Holman.
You have to see her lovely paintings on her blog.
Tomorrow I will go on with the bottom of the box.
