Weinachtszeit- Holzzeit / Christmast time- wood time

Hallo meine Lieben

Advent.
Eure Janine
Hello my friends
Gladfully I am fully recoverd and now I am looking foreward to christmas
Last year Albert gave me a wood- turning- machine for birthday.
I think woodwork and christmas belong together.
Du you know Tchaikowskys Nutcracker?
I love the King of Mice and painted him on a cake- stand.
I turned the base from a piece of beech- wood.
Then I tried some smaller figures.
Like the mushroom wich accompanies my two gnomes.
And because this went so good, I tried to make a musical box.
You require an old cigar- box, a clockwork playing "silent night", snow- structure-paste
and some little figures. The music- box is a real teamwork, cause Albert turned the trees and I the girl and snowman- figure.
Christmas can come
I wish you a wonderfull second Advent.
Yours Janine

  1. Janine!! So glad to read you're on the road to recovery...wonderful!! I love all your little wooden figures. When I was in Germany, I bought many little ornaments for my tree and now, you can really see them. I went from a large tree to a smaller one, making it easier to see my little ornaments. I used to have a German Nutcracker and Smoker, but alas, after 3 children and their attraction to them, they have gone the way of the past. LOL

I also have a Christmas pyramid. I gave my children there's...wish I hadn't...my oldest son's is beautiful and I know he doesn't put it out. My daughter's was purchased back when Germany was still divided. I had some friends who traveled to East Germany a few times a year and they brought me back a really sweet one when my daughter was still a baby. When my youngest was born, I wrote my friend, Ute, to send me one for him, so that's the only one I still have from Germany.

Have a wonderful week and would love to see more of your decorations...brings back so many wonderful memories....I love Germany!!

    xxoo,
    Georgina
